King’s Landing Canoe and Kayak River Race August 24, 2008
The King’s Landing Canoe and Kayak River Race is an 8 1/2 mile downstream race on the Rock Springs River. The Rock Springs River is a wild and scenic river that will provide a challenge to even the most experienced paddlers. Racers will draw starting postitons and leave King’s Landings on one-minute intervals. Following the race, a shuttle will transport paddlers and their boats back to the start for lunch and presentation of awards.

Adirondack Canoe Classic “The 90-Miler” September 5 – 7 2008
This three-day, 90-mile flatwater race follows the original highways of the Adirondacks from Old Forge to Saranac Lake. The course offers a mix of lake and river flatwater paddling with several carries. Participants receive a T-shirt, mileage pins, awards, camping, snacks, boat shuttles and a post race meal. Entry forms for this race go out via U.S. Mail in June. The event is limited to 250 canoes. Entry deadline in July 25.

Blue Springs Canoe and Kayak Race September 27, 2008
The Blue Springs Canoe and Kayak Race will be held in September at the Blue Springs State Park in Orange City, Florida.

Suwannee River Challenge October 11, 2008
The Suwannee River Challenge is a 52 mile race designed to push the limits of even the most serious paddler. The race starts in Fargo, Georgia shortly after daybreak to give paddlers enough time to finish before nightfall in White Springs, Florida. There also is a 26 mile Suwannee Marathon that starts at the SR-6 bridge over the Suwannee River. Both races go through “Big Shoals”, the only Class III white water in Florida.

Alafia Challenge Canoe and Kayak Race November 8, 2008
The Alafia Challenge is a canoe and kayak race down the lower Alafia River, located in southern Hillsborough County Florida. The race is from Lithia Springs County Park to the Riverview Civic Center for a total distance of about 11 miles.
